15th June - Nyewood Top Pond

13 young anglers, representing Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey clubs had worked extremely hard during extreme weather conditions.

Some fantastic skills were on display during this event, very challenging for some, especially when bites were really hard to come by, but a change in the weather late on had created a storming finish for top honours in both age groups.

Jack Cleland-Smith (Pulborough) showed excellent skills catching Carp on corn & maggot cocktail to weigh in with 50+lb to take top honours in the 8-12 age group.

Regular attendee Archie Mann (Portsmouth), previous winner of the 8-12 age group in 2022 had finished strongly to claim top spot in the 13-16 age group.

PDAC representatives had also put in fantastic performances, five of which, had never experienced match fishing before, once the Carp had finally moved in and bites became more regularly, Henry Johns and the Hales siblings (Jack & Luke) had put in great challenges late on in the 8-12 section.
